Biomagnetic Research Protocol
Case History & orientation: A healthy 67 year old woman who lives in Florida went for a ride on her new scooter. Unfortunately, the scooter fell & she went with it. She landed on her hip, shoulder & head. When she got up the pain was a 6 out of 10. She walked 1/2 a block to get home 7 then lay down for 4 hours on her back with the magnet propped on her side. The pain reduced to a 5. That night she slept with the magnet & by morning the pain was a 4. A hematoma developed the size of her cupped hand. By day three her hip area become discolored. On day four the purple discoloration 12 inches by 8 inches. On day five she noticed that the bruise was unusual in that the place where the magnet had been was of normal skin color. On day seven this picture was taken. By then the purple was turning yellow & pain was only a 3.

Assessments used: pain scale 6 to 3

Treatment goals: reduce pain/ heal tissue
Treatment plan: direct placement
1) type of magnet used:
ceramic magnet 4" x 6" x 1/2" 3,950 gauss
2) polarity: conventional/negative
3) techniques: direct placement on left hip 4) duration: 1/2 hour after injury for 4 hours over night on & off. On occasionally other nights too.
Observations / outcomes:
4th day a purple bruise showed. 7th day photo taken to document how well magnet healed tissue.

Biomagnetic Therapy was a helpful treatment for a member last Winter. Perhaps she should have moved the magnet around the injured hip. "THE ONE THING I AM SURE OF- BY USING THE MAGNET .THE MAGNET DENIED TISSUE CHANGES DUE TO TRAUMA ON THE MAGNET TOUCHED AREA."
