Frequently Asked Questions:

About magnets:

Are all magnets therapeutic? No. You must have the right strength, size & magnetization pattern.

Are magnets safe?

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified the application of magnetic fields to humans as "not essentially harmful."
The World Health Organization published findings that state static magnetic fields are safe to humans up to 20,000 gauss.

Why magnets?
Rational for biomagnetic therapy: Robert Becker, MD has discovered that our bodies produce negative magnetic energy as a healing response.

When the negative magnetic fields from permanent magnets are applied, it supplements this natural response. This is why negative pole is often the best protocol.

Benefits?

1. Pain reduction abilities.
2. Healing capabilities to bone, tissue, muscles, and nerves.
3. Chronic disease prevention and reversal.
4. Antibiotic properties to which microorganisms can not build a tolerance.
5. Effects of more available oxygen and thus more energy.
6. Acumagnetic stimulation and balancing abilities.
7. Stimulation to excite or inhibit neurons.
8. Sleep promotion.
9. Athletic enhancement due to reduction in lactic acid buildup. (balancing pH)
10. Processing toxins.
11. Stress reduction from electromagnetic pollution.

About the school:
Who recognizes the Biomagnetic Therapy Association (BTA) certification?

BTA has international recognition. We have been established since 1995,
& our presence is growing fast. BTA certifications are earned by each &
every student who completes our programs. They can be displayed with
great pride. Their is no government agency in the United States that
regulates Biomagnetic Therapy certifying agencies. It is up to each
organization, such as BTA, to maintain high standards. (currently no
other certifying agency exists in the US)

Who started the school?
Suzy Balliett did. She is an Occupational Therapist who became
interested in Biomagnetic research. She has worked with Doctors in
China. She became certified by the Australian school as a Magnetic
Therapist. Her local mentor is William Philpott, MD. She created this
rigorous program for anyone interested in Biomagnetic Therapy.

Which certification level do I enter?
After becoming a member of BTA ( state law requires educational programs
to be governed by associations) any one can apply for the practitioner
program. If you have taken college level anatomy & physiology you can
apply for the Therapist level. Only a certified Therapist can enter the
Researcher program & only a certified Researcher can enter the Teacher
program.

Where do graduates work?
Most enter private practice or combine this work with other therapies
they are already doing.

Is the test open book?
yes

How do I get clients for the case studies?

Start by asking family & friends. You could also put an advertisement in
the local news.

How challenging is the program?

Because it is self paced learning can occur easily in your own home or
you can attend a workshop for a jump start.
